setup cannot find Ulead DVD Movie Factory on your system

Post by Creyton »

Bought Ulead 4.0 recently and successfully applied additional components via download - but impossible to apply 4.04 update patch. The above error message appears, and installation halts.

Any clues??

Hi Barry, and welcome to the forums..:)

First thing that comes to mind is where you installed MF4. Did you install it to another HDD or partition? It shouldn't be an issue, however sometimes the patches/fixes are coded to looking in the root drive only.

Thanks for prompt reply!!

I installed to my root drive. I have three hard drives, 1 = root (programs), 2= documents (no programs), 3 = audio/video files (no programs)

One thought - when installing, I chose the option to keep the installation files, and saved them to my 2 drive.... is there a default location for these files that the update patch is looking for?

install wizard can't find Movie Factory 4

Post by tbowen777 »

I have the same problem. My new Hauppauge PVR 150 won't work with Ulead, something about hcw2 won't work. So, I tried to install update and get error, install wizard can't find Movie Factory 4 installed in your computer. I've reinstalled to both drives, C & D and neither work.My C drive is NTSF and my D drive is Fat32. I also ran regedit to see if my downloaded Movie Factory 4 is in the registry. It is not. Is there anyway to install this update to see if my Hauppauge card will ever work?

I have downloaded and tried installing update Pack 4.04 and Hauppauge support pack. Install Shield says it can't find Movie Factory installed in my computer, so the updates will not install.

No,
I downloaded Movie Factory 4.0 Disc Creator. I'm the one who wasted $100 for this POS and still can't get it to work.
