Does this ring a bell with anyone? It is my Windows events viewer which logs any error when Ulead 9 shuts off sporadically. [It's usually after my project loads and I hit the play button and within the 1st couple frames the screen closes and back to xp desktop..
Faulting application Vstudio .exe version 9.0 Fault module flash 8b.ocx
error code when 9 crashes.

yes I did this past week..
I will go an install it again.
If that does not fix the issue, any ideas?
[when it happens, all I have to do is click the play button after my project loads and it's outta here.. back to desktop] other times I can run ulead 9 ragged and no crash.....
same thing happens at times when I play card games online aka POGO.com

Raygo,
Since this behaviour is manifesting itself in another application, then I would also start looking at the integrity of hard drive(s) and memory (RAM).
I say that because it is very similar to the syptoms I had last year. VS would disappear while working on a project. This went on for a while, and I blamed VS for it. But then I started having it happen using another application. Then my computer would decide it needed to reboot.
I located and downloaded a free RAM testor and ran some tests. Low and behold, I had a bad memory stick. Luckily it was still under warranty. So I replaced it, and haven't had the problem since.

I d/l and ran the Memory test as advised by Ron..
I let it run the standard 6 tests and no errors found..
thanks Ron,, valuable floppy to have in my arsenal. btw: isn't .OCX a file exstention for filters or animation?
Steve,
I only have 1 project in studio 9 so I can't compare with others unless you mean "check for corrupted video file by running each clip seperately from my library.?
and not to throw anyone off here but I have read that problems with playing card games in POGO.COM thru aol appears to be due to java script problems and I don't think ulead and java handshake....

ok......Hold the presses... new developement here..
When I open Ulead, there are 2 choices to get to my project.
"open project" which takes me to my folder on my slave drive where I double click the VSP file.. or, in the main file menu where the VSP is already there under insert to library and I click on it.
Seems like the problem happens most when I do the open project, click on the VSP file. Now, either way, I assume they are the same file ? or are they loading from 2 different areas?
maybe I should click save again and over write the VSP file in my slave drive folder?
