I've been using VS 8SE for awhile now and before that VS 7. I've had problems burning a project to Dual Layer discs in VS8 in that the finished disc will not play/load in the PC as well as a DVD player. It burns OK and there are no problems during the conversion process and burning process. I'm using DVD+R DL and I make sure that I adjust the Bit Rate to fit the disc with room to spare. The burn speed is set at Max (2.4). I'm using a Toshiba SDR 6572M Dual Layer and Lightscibe recorder.
I have no problems with 4.7G discs, only Dual Layered discs. I tried using the trial of VS10 thinking it would support Dual Layer but the same thing occurs; burns OK then will not play/load.
Could it be cheap Discs? Should I try DVD-R DL as opposed to DVD+R DL? Anyone had similar problems? I wasted so many DL discs now that I'm getting fed up.
Dual Layer Discs.... Burns OK but does not Play or Load!?!

There was a dual layer patch that was brought out for VS8, though I simply don't recall whether it would work with an SE version... Mind you, that still would not explain why the same thing would happen with VS10. Try using another brand disc, and possibly a '-R' variety. You could also experiment with a -RW disc so you don't create any drink coasters...

Thanks Ken,
I'll try some other discs but these are the 2nd brand that I've tried. Mind you, they're not well known brands. I'll try searching for the patch and trying some -R DVDs.
I might als try reducing the burn speed but at 2.4 speed you would have thought it would be slow enough!
I've got enough drinks coasters for a banquet!
