Choose to display titles or not with VS, is it possible?

Post by vince_nc »

Hi,

I'm newbee to this forum and Video Studio.
When playing a movie DVD on a home DVD player, one can choose to display or not subtitles (usually different languages). I would like to know if I can do that with Video Studio 10 plus?

I am aware that titles can be added to video but I don't know if once burned to a DVD, I can choose to display the titles (titles I added to the projects, not different language subtitles) or not.

Thanks for any answers,

Vince

In the nut shell no.

I don't know of any NLE that will add subtitles in any language.

You want DVD Workshop -- it supports up to 32 selectable Subtitles.

Thanks THoff,
I will take a look at DVD workshop.

So with VS, I work on transitions, effects, etc. then export the movies to files. After that I reopen the edited clip files inside DVDWS to add titles that can be choosen to be displayed or not during playback, is that right?

Yes, that's one option. There is significant overlap as far as features are concerned between the various Ulead products, and you may find that you can do all of the things you need to do in DVD Workshop itself.
