This error normally relates to a driver problem.
Check to see if there are any updated drivers for your
dazzel dvc 90 capture device

Thanks sjj1805

Have the latest drivers for the Dazzle. It works fine in the bundled pinnacle studio 9 quickstart & windows XP movie maker. Just errors all the time with cannot start the capture graph.......
I'll play with it some more.

Thanks

In general, you are better off using the capture software that's specially made for your particular analog capture device. (That's what I do.)

Once you have a digital video file on your hard drive, you can use whatever editing or DVD authoring software you want to.

My theory is that capture drivers are not as standardized as more common computer peripherals (like printers). Some capture simply software does not know how to "talk to" some capture hardware/drivers. I really don’t expect the situation to improve either, since the major software makers are not interested in anything "analog".

Yes I agree with Doug on this point and to highlight the issue take my
Hauppauge TV card as an example.

The drivers that came with the Card worked fine with its native program WinTV2000 used to view and also record TV.

Then I found that another piece of Hauppauge Software VtPlus (teletext) wouldn't work with the card. I even sent an email to Hauppauge who confirmed that my particular card did not yet support teletext.

I waited perhaps two years before thinking of it again, by now several updated drivers were available. I tried the latest available drivers and still didnt get teletext, but interestingly enough I found an earlier driver (but later than my original of course) that did support teletext.

Going on from this I discovered problems getting my Hauppauge TV Card to work with my Ulead programs with:
1. The Original Driver perhaps version 14 or something like that.
2. The 'latest Driver' perhaps version 23 or something like that.

My Ulead programs work fine with the driver that also works with VtPlus - something like version 18. So now that driver is permanently preserved on several back up CD's.

The point being made is when you get a capture method that works - use it - don't struggle trying to get something else to do the job.
