Just purchased VS10+ ... have been using the trial. I am offered a link to a BIG download called Bonus Features for Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus
as well as one called "content pack." Can anyone tell me what is included in "Bonus Features for Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus"? Is it worth downloading?
thanks,
Phil

No idea what is in it Phil - but all the content (various downloads) are always needed for a full install.
The trial usually has the barebones of the application and is missing many things like all the transitions, menus, titles etc etc, so assuming this is still the case for VS10 you will need those two files have have a full install of the application.
Of course it is up to you whether you "need" them or not
What you have at the moment offers the basic ability to make a DVD - but that is all, just the bare basics.
That is why the trial is a lot smaller in size than the real thing - they give the basic application and some sampling of the available transitions, menus, titles etc - to get all the frills for the basic functionality you will need everything.
So I would recommend downloading the extra files. Use a decent download manager in case the connection drops out etc (sounds like you are loath to download because of a slow link?).

That's OK mate - I figured a fast reply with less background (I don't have VS 10 for definitive answers
) was better than waiting for a more authoritive reply
.
It's obviously better to have the entire package available - even if you decide afterwards that you don't need the entire thing. Just remove the application and restore the wanted parts.
Assuming the same policy applies as when I bought VS9 ESD - the links they email you are supposed to disappear within 10 days, so use them while they are available
An example (based on VS 9 ESD) of what you get in the extra content is the extra smart sound files. The trial version came with 2, the extra content added a further 20 tracks (from memory
). So that is an example of what you are looking at losing if you avoid downloading/installing the extra content etc.

Here's the lowdown
I downloaded the bonus material... here's what you get. (I haven't installed any of the programs yet, as I still don't know what they actually do.)
* Pocket DV show MCE Edn. (Anyone have info on this?)
* Cool 3D v3.0 (got it already)
* Win DVD 7 (don't really need another DVD player)
* Audio clips - music and sound effects
* Images - backgrounds etc
* Video clips - mainly opening and closing sequences.

Phil -- just as a matter of interest, when you first purchased and downloaded the main program, how many links were drawn to your attention? Originally, there were 4 -- to the program itself, then to 'Extra Content', and then there were originally two Bonus Features packs, but it appears that the latter may now have been amalgamated into one (of about 200 MB). The Extra Content download was an important one for the program itself, unless they have now amalgamated that also with the main program download.
