MSP 8 SP1 Beta

Post by malwilliams »

Has any one had the following problems with the SP1 Beta

1 clicking on the sound when playing back from the mixing window

2 program lockup when playing back from the mixing window

3 loss of one of the audio tracks when playing back from the mixing window

Just wondering if this is a program bug or my system?

Haven't observed any of these from my system, not even with 5.1 trials.

Yes I have experienced 1 and 3 but very intermittently and they disappear if I go back and scrub again from a point where the audio is good.

Hi thanks for the replays most helpful just been playing with it and found out that if you only play back audio no clicking on the sound and when rendered no clicking. Yes devil I have reported this to Ulead, just wondered if it was my sound card. Also use Adobe audition and this works ok with or without video.

I have an Audigy 2, and haven't run into that problem myself, but if there is a problem with the Audigy 2, it is most likely with the driver, not the card itself.

I'm pretty good about keeping drivers up-to-date, and the last time I checked Creative's website about a month ago, there were no more recent drivers than what I'm using. You may want to check and see if yours are current.

Thanks for that THoff will check the drivers for the sound card. With the clicking only being present when there is video playing maybe there is a conflict with the sound card and graphics card drivers. Any one had this problem :?:

Hi Steve,
I dont believe that this message really means they have closed the feedback - or they had closed it allready on the first day. When I tried to submit my first report, I first got an error message telling that this url does not exist and when I retried 5 minutes later I got the same message as you. I really hope they wont ignore our bug reports, since e.g. zooming is worse than without sp.

I may be wrong but, as far as I know, there will be a beta build 0038 released later today. However, I'm not sure that it will be a public beta, probably not.

If we look at the history of the 8.0 release, the initial 20-odd builds were private beta, there was one public beta, then two private betas and finally release. This may follow the same schematic, because it would start to be confusing if there were multiple beta builds out in the public.

I suspect that the first line of the message does not mean what it appears to say or, at least, it was released prematurely. I know that there are still 2 weeks until SP1 is released, according to the announced schedule and I equally know that testing and debugging is on-going. I have no reason to believe that public reports up to about 1 week hence will be ignored, on condition that they relate to bugs in SP1 (there will be no further product enhancements, just bug fixing).

I think there will be only one public beta.
