Converting .avi to DVD format from another application

Post by weissma »

I am a potential customer for DVD MovieFactory and have a product related question before I purchase. I have an application called Pictures To EXE which is used to create slide shows (creates a .exe file). One of the features of this program is the creation of a temporary .avi file which I would like to convert to DVD format (.mpeg).

It is my understanding that DVD MovieFactory can perform this function, is this true? If so, how do I do it? I have downloaded the trial version and can use the help and direction.

Thanks

That is generally true. You'll just have to try it. There are many different AVI formats. AVI is just just a "container" format that can contain DV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, etc.

Movie Factory can also make a slide-show DVD from your stills.

Did you also download the User Manual?

Even with the user manual it is still not intuitive as to where to go to convert .avi to .mpeg. Any suggestions?

In my user manaul p.17 "Export Selected Clips" section explains how to convert your source files to some video file in DVDMF 5.

Hope this helps.
