Editing IFO file so that menu plays AFTER movie (not before)

Post by Steve__A »

For the IFO experts out there... I believe that it is a fairly simple operation in IFOedit to accomplish this but I don't have the foggiest idea where to start.

What I would like to do is have the menu come up AFTER the movie plays; when you insert the DVD the movie would play right away. (You may have noticed that some of the bargain basement commercial DVD's do this; I think it is because their menus aren't much better than what we can create with UVS8 or DMF3 so they don't want them to be displayed immediately, thus tipping us off to their low rent origins. :P )

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

I haven't done this, but give it a try: when you create a DVD, notice at the lower left of the FIRST burn screen - First Clip as First Play Video. Check that and the video should play first.

Hope it helps.

pre-commands

create the dvd folders onto your hard drive. Then use something like pgcedit to edit the pre-commands of the first-play, and add in the jump-to-title command (JumpTT to select which title to play).

if your dvd expects some gprm's to be set before playing anything, then you will need to set them accordingly...
