The Upgrade CD installation requires entry of the new serial number (on the CD) and a serial number of an earlier version. There is no "activation code" (mentioned in the inital order). I was unable to register VS10+ upgrade on the website (could not login) but the product works fine anyway.
BTW, I was able to open a high definition project made with 9.0 and the playback is in high def and very smooth. The frame rate is lowered to maintain even playback at full resolution. Playback was smooth through 3D and crossfade transitions.

Thanks JChunter! What I still do not understand is why I need to give them a previous serial number if I am ordering the full version of this software. Doesn't make a lot of since to me, but maybe there is a hidden reason somewhere. Take care!

DBZ,
I agree, if you purchased the Full version, not upgrade then how in the world would they expect anyone to have a seial number for a previous version, if they don't own any other Ulead program... Does not make a lick of sense.
I guess I'll find out if / or when I get mine. If it prompts me for a serial number from a previous version...

Hello Ron P.
We will both wait to see what occurs when, and if, they ever arrive. I should be more patient since I only just ordered yesterday
I will let you know what happens; however, you will more than likely get your order first. So I will be checking the forum to see what happened in this regard. Good luck!!

Hello Board!
I promised that I would report back here when I received my copy of the box version of VS10+ - HOORAY! HOORAY!
It came today. I ordered last Thursday, May 11th and it was in my mail today May 15th. Now that is what I call expediency.
Ulead might get it all right one of these days and we will get software with fewer glitches - which I have to say, in all honesty, has been happening since Versioin 5.
Hope everyone is experiencing similar results. I plan to install later this week to see what I have been reading about on this board. I am a little excited, but I will reserve my exhaltations until I get it up and running.
Be blessed!

Thanks Ron P. (vidoman)
Now I see what you meant about Texas being a different country. I thought it was bad here in the Bronx, but I must concede to Texas on this matter. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Since you were a beta tester, they should have sent you a complimentary box version already. It is only fair!!!!!
