DBZ,

FWIW, I just sent another email to Vinson. I detailed everything, stressing that Ulead's site could have been spoofed and how that would look bad. I hope he does look at it or forward it to their web staff.

Just to update,

I just received an email reply, and the reason for the error messages, is the Element 5 done the wrong settings for VS10 Plus. It has been corrected now.

I received the following message from Element on May 8th:

Thank you for placing an order with element 5.
Your product order, Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus (Upgrade/Box) - English, has been confirmed by our fulfillment center. Your order is been processed and is expected to ship tomorrow.

I haven't received any shipping information since. Maybe they don't send tracking information. I'm hoping the product has been mailed. Who knows.....this whole ordering process has been a nightmare for most of us.....

AFAIK if the product is being shipped via USPS (United States Postal Service) then there is no tracking number available. From my past experience with USPS tracking it's a joke anyway. It will show that it has been shipped and has been delivered. With UPS (United Parcel Service) the tracking is more accurate. However using UPS costs about 1 1/2 to 2 x as much as USPS.

Nightmare yes I agree. However this time it was not Ulead that was causing the nightmare. They just were slow at getting the box version out. That also can not be blamed soley on them. Who ever they use to mass produce the DVDs caused the delay. Also there was the Blue-Ray issue originally, that had to be corrected.

The purchase issue was caused by Element5, that handles on-line purchasing for numerous companies. That issue was resolved last night, thanks to Ulead, Vinson Chien and others.

Hi Ron,

With great customer service such as B&H, Newegg, & others, this shipping information with Elements is a foss. I don't entirely blame Ulead for this. They have what I believe is a great product in VS NLE. As a customer all I ask is do what you say or what you promise to do.......

As for the delay with mass producing, again, don't advertise the product as orderable unless you have the merchandise ready to ship.

I don't agree 100%, since we are talking about company that does business over the internet. Ulead along with a host of other software companies sell downloadable versions of their products. I know of one company, where they only offer their product via download, no box at all. They do not market to any stores.
So Ulead did provide a version (download) even though the boxed version was not ready. I do agree that it does make happier customers to have all versions available when coming out with a new product, if it is going to available in more then one version.

Another perspective is with E85 gasoline here in the US. E85 (85% ethanol) is only available at a handful of locations, yet they continue to provide and market it. Should they wait until it is available all over before they release it?

Thanks for the info. If ordering is pretty much in sync, I should receive my copy by early next week.

Thanks to Ron for emailing Chien and others in this matter. I have used Ulead Video Studio since version #5 and have always been faithful to the product, even in the midst of some of it's flaws. I have yet to find software, including Windows, that did not need patching or something of the sort.

After hearing from Ron & Steve last evening, I decided to contact my credit card supplier and it doesn't appear that any activity has occurred on my card as of yet. I will keep my eye on it for a few weeks just in case.

I will attempt to order again and see what I get this time. If you do not hear from me, that means all went well. Oh heck, I will let you know either way good or bad. Thanks again guys. Even though I do not post often, I read this board every night, like my newspaper, to see what's up and new. You guys do great work here. Too bad you are not the tech guys for Ulead. You certainly know as much about how to use the products, if not more. Be blessed!

Box Version

Well fellas! I got through and I have my confirmation emails and invoice for the purchase.

One puzzling thing though. One of the emails states that my license key is attached to the email and that I will need it to activate VS10+. Well, for the life of me, I cannot find anything that even resembles a license key. I am assuming that it will come with the box version when it arrives.

For those of you who have already received your box version, did it come with a license key or did you have to get it through email? This has been the strangest order sequence for me since I have been using Ulead. Oh well, I guess I can count myself lucky that I haven't had some of the nightmares I have read about in this forum from others. Thanks again Ron and Steve, I think you guys helped a lot in this matter. Be blessed!
