Has anyone else received an email from Ulead stating that the box version is available, but when you go to checkout and click on the country to check shipping costs, and enter USA, you get a message saying "due to restrictions we are not allow to ship to the country specified". What's that all about?

This does not sound good at all....dbz2000 wrote:Has anyone else received an email from Ulead stating that the box version is available, but when you go to checkout and click on the country to check shipping costs, and enter USA, you get a message saying "due to restrictions we are not allow to ship to the country specified". I'm going fire off an email and see what's up with this. I hope it's just a glitch..

Good idea Ron! I too hope it is only a glitch. I will try again later and report back if things have changed. Maybe I will give it a shot tomorrow night when I get home from work. Thanks for the response!

Re: Box Version
Which Ulead Mall did you go to, you may have selected another country in error such as http://www.ulead.co.uk/store/vs/runme.htm which is in the UK.dbz2000 wrote:Has anyone else received an email from Ulead stating that the box version is available, but when you go to checkout and click on the country to check shipping costs, and enter USA, you get a message saying "due to restrictions we are not allow to ship to the country specified". Glad to hear all the responses. The email I got comes from the US website because it is connected to my registration of other products.
So like most of you, I get updates about new software when they become available. The link that came with the site is what I clicked on and it took me to the Ulead store where I proceeeded to order. When I tried to purchase it, that is when I got the message. I will try again after I finish this post and see what I get.
Happy to hear so many of you are finally getting the boxed version. I hope to join you soon

The message below is what I received when I tried to order VS10+. It was amazing that they let me get all the way through entering credit card number and everything only to hit me with this message:
Dear customer:
We are sorry to say that the developer of the software Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus (Full/Box) - English is exporting this software only to specific markets. Your order cannot be processed due to these constraints.
Please contact the author of the software directly at csform@ulead.com if you need more information.
I am living in New York and was surprised because I didn't get an out-of-stock message or anything. I guess the wait is still on for me

DBZ,
I guess they consider the Bronx another country? I thought Texas was the only one that could claim that.
I did email Vinson Chien, however surprisingly he did not respond. He always has responded to my emails. However don't feel alone, I was told around the 3rd of the month, I would be receiving mine, around the 20th. I'm keeping my fingers crossed..
What is confusing to me (and I know to you) is how the others from the US are able to order and get confirmation on shipment? Ordering from the Ulead Mall, USA site, it should have been processed through Element 5. Did your purchase go through Element 5? If not I'd really question if the site was legit, or not...
EDIT
Don't use links in emails, that can be a phishing scheme, directing you to a bogus site to get your credit card information...
Try going to Ulead's website, then proceed to purchase and see if you get the same thing. When I read your previous post, about clicking on the link in the email, that threw up big big red flags....
***EDIT***
I just went to Ulead's site and proceeded to purchase. I done as DBZ, and clicked on the link to calculate the shipping charges. I entered NY and then Kansas. Both times the message DBZ posted was given..

I am also concerned that you may have revealed your credit card details to a spoof site. Did you place your order via the site at
http://www.ulead.com

Thanks for the responses fellas! I went to the correct website because I had to login with my email and password and when I did my previous information came up from Element 5 that showed my last purchase of Ulead Photo Express 6 in December. I even forgot my password and had to ask for the password from the site who in turn emailed me the correct password for my login.
However, all of this could mean nothing or everything or who knows...I don't believe that I was spoofed, but...
Thanks again fellas!
BTW The Bronx has always been considered another country...even here in New York
