Very Slow Speed in DMF5.

Hi all, I'm newbie here. I would like to keep vcd to dvd. I mean keep many vcd in one dvd. So I choose "Archive 6 vcd to dvd" in DMF5. I use vcd gear convert dat file to mpeg. I test this program by using 2 vcds. total is 0.99 gig (only). Total time is 1 hr 33 mins. I safe this writing in .iso because I'm not sure in time of render and writing. I click burn and go outside. When I back total time using is 2 hr 45 mins. But total progress is 36 percent only. I said in my mind. "Oh why so slow" if want finish this job may be take 5 - 6 hrs at least. So I click stop. My comp is Pentium 4 and ram is 256. In old day, I used DMF4 it's not take time like this. What thing I made wrong? I would like to know how to reduce render time in DMF5. Please help.
