Hi Guys
Does anyone know of any night time filters that would work simply and quickly in MSP8?
I'm trying to convert a plane taking off in day to night time. At the moment, I've tried playing around with monochrome, blue highlights, etc (and adding some red & green navigation lights via VideoPaint) but it's not looking that great and is taking a lot of time.
If there are no filters out there, has anyone else any tips or tricks?
Night Filters?
Night Filters?
Thanks & regards.

You are starting the right way, but you have to adjust brightness (down) and contrast (possibly up) as well. Don't do the Hollywood trick of keeping all the colours but under-exposing the film: it does not look real.
Once you have the effects right on one clip, you can copy/paste the attributes to all the other clips in one operation.

I don't know if this will help much, but Nick Jushchyshyn has a couple of tutorials (Quicktime and Windows media player) for achieving this with stills.
It seems to me that as well as working with brightness and contrast as Devil says, you need to use video paint to get a pair of white cones where the landing lights would be shining, and you'd also need to create a matte which negates the darkness and contrast filters where the lamps would light an object such as the runway.
