Yes, and I'm not going to try to sell PI to you. However if you read alot of the posts here, whether it is MSP, VS, PI, etc.. you would come to that conclusion..

I've been using PSP v9 and I have had it crash on me. About the only program that I have not had crash at sometime I think is Notepad or MSWorks...:) I do have PI v11 and so far I'm impressed with it. It is very similar to PSP (9 anyway, don't know about earlier) in layout. The main difference is the Objects vs Layers (PI vs PSP). I still do alot with PSP, but there are things, mainly the menus that I use PI for. But it is an overall nice program. Plus it's not just 1 program, PI is a suite, like Corel Draw Graphics Suite...

Like I stated, I'm not selling you just pointing out a few things...

You can edit UFO files in Adobe Photoshop but you would have to use PhotoImpact to be able to convert them into DVD Menus.
Please see this post:

You can also use the 45 free menu templates here:

Sorry to rain on your parade, Steve, but that link with the 45 free (for registered members) menus, is for the Ulead Program CD & DVD Picture Show 4, and is in an executable file which will only install if it finds a copy of that particular program...

Thanks Ken. I wonder if it would install into the Trial Version, probably not.
I must give it a try when I get the time, unless someone else gives it a go and lets us know the result.

BrianCee wrote: having just installed my copy of V10+ I have to say I have been very pleasantly surprised after moving a few menu templates from V9 into the V10 folders to find that I can customise even the menus from V9 - by that I mean actually move thumbnails around the screen and move and ROTATE all the text (all - including 'My Title') and further you can resize all the thumbnails - all within the 'Create Disc' function of V10+. - this of course in addition to the changing of background image/video and background music. - and then add the new template back into the template 'Gallery' for future use - I think there's more than enough there for me.
Brian, in the tbyb version of 10+ I was able to do everything you said and even a little more--for example, resizing the buttons, etc. What I couldn't do is "add the new template back into the template Gallery for future use." That is exactly what I wanted to do, so I could set up a couple of master templates. Can you step through that?

It would be very nice if Ulead gave 10+ users a special pack of those wonderful templates we keep hearing about from 9...!

Before I buy PI , I need to know something. Does PI actually create DVD menu templates for VS or is it just a graphic (Paint) program?

I need a main menu with 5 choices on it. I really like the way the standard menu (the one with the Lilly on it) looks and works. But it only has 3 menu choices on it.

If I could modify that menu with PI to add more chioces, I'd buy it.

Thanks in advance for your input,

Mike

In the create disc option after choosing a menu template I choose the 'Edit' Tab and under that the 'Customize' icon option - as soon as I then make a change to the template the icon under the menu template which is labelled "Add to menu Template" highlights and allows me to click on it to save the modified menu to my menu 'Favorites' folder to appear in the gallery for future selection.

It is possible that it is an option not available in the TBYB version - but is in my full version.

Here's a little offering.
Its a Smartscene menu that has 5 links.
http://www.mediamax.com/sjj1805/Links/7525FDD3EA

There you will find two files.
smartscene05.zip for a 4.3 version
smartscene05w.zip for a 16.9 version

Video/Studio 10+ users need to unzip it to:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10\Content\Menu Template\16x9\One Scene Button

MovieFactory 5 users need to unzip it to:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 Plus\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5\Content\Menu Template\16x9\One Scene Button

Change 16x9 to 4x3 if your using the 4.3 version.

Christmas is just around the corner and so I thought I would create a menu for all those Christmas videos. This Smartscene menu has 5 links.

http://www.mediamax.com/sjj1805/Links/9CA75CA126

There you will find two files.
smartxmas05.zip for a 4.3 version
smartxmas05w.zip for a 16.9 version

Video/Studio 10+ users need to unzip it to:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10\Content\Menu Template\16x9\One Scene Button

MovieFactory 5 users need to unzip it to:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 Plus\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5\Content\Menu Template\16x9\One Scene Button

Change 16x9 to 4x3 if your using the 4.3 version.
