Creating video file

Post by nblecher »

I have created a project which is quite long, almost 3 hours in duration, using Videostudio 9 . I am trying to create a video file which I then can burn onto a DVD. The process begins but I then get a message that there is insufficient memory. I have 1 GB of memory and only videostudio is running. The settings I am using are NTSC DVD(16:9). How much memory do I need to create this file and is there anything I can do other than break the project into smaller pieces?

You should fill in your "system" information so we know more about your PC.

It's probably refering to your Hard Drive. How much free space do you have available? You'll probably need 6GB to render the entire project.

I had a similar issue with a 6 hour video, all my video footage is stored on a 250gb drive and the os and vs9 are on a 20gb drive.

By default the working folder is in the same drive as VS9 and the os, I had to change that to the 250gb drive.

In the burn settings click the letter like icon (next to the gear shaped icon) go to preferences and change the working folder to a drive with more space.

Hope this makes sense.....

I'm not sure if this was right but I changed the working folder to a drive which has 50gb of free space. I then tried a smaller file with which to create a video file and I got the same insufficient memory message. Is there something I'm missing? I am working with XP professional .
