Using trial version of VideoStudio 10 Plus
Trying to capture video frrom Canon MV960 by firewire.
Video is captured fine but sound is really choppy.
Tried using the DV-to-DVD Wizard
Then tried using movie wizard to import selecting different video formats but to no avail.
Video works fine on camcorder and through TV.
Video is captured in MJPEG and sound is in the WAV format.

You have connected your camcorder to the computer by way of firewire. You should be transferring the contents of your camcorder to the computer and not capturing.Camcorder Novice wrote:Using trial version of VideoStudio 10 Plus

Video is captured in MJPEG and sound is in the WAV format.
To do this you should select DV type 1 which is a form of AVI file and requires approx 13GB of hard drive space per hour.
MJPEG / MPEG and other compressed formats are
1. Only meant for viewing not editing
2. Have to be converted to that format on the fly which most computers are unable to do.
Take for example a 1 hour DV (AVI) file and now render it to MPEG2.
I bet you it takes longer than the hour long length of the video and wouldn't be surprised if it took a hour and half or even up to 3 hours to render.
When you transfer your video from your camcorder to the computer by way of firewire it is rather like downloading a file off the internet, or copying a file from one hard drive to another, There will be no loss of quality and no audio/video synchronisation issues.
