Codec problem

Post by Bob Hughes »

I have an AVI movie that plays fine on my computer.
In VS8 clip mode it plays fine, but in project mode I get “unable to access the audio codec driver”
Any suggestions?

In addition to what Ken wrote, try running Sherlock 2.0 to check that there isn't a problem with one of the codecs.

It is not my clip so I have no idea what the properties are. I have a pentium 4 1.66 Ghz PC with 768 MB running Win 2K. I Tried Sherlock & found following broken codec's.
InterVideo Audio Decoder
Ulead DVD Audio decoder
Ulead DVD Video decoder
I ran a repair on VS 8 and ran Norton windoctor. I installed & removed quite a few Ulead programs befor deciding on VS8 so the Ulead CodeC's could be a hangover?
Codec's are a real challenge to me. I have no idea what ones I really need. Any more sugestions?
