License Key
Will the first person to receive, install and activate VS10 or VS10 plus please post here so that the riddle of the license key can be understood by all.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Terry
What? I assumed you ordered the boxed version. ?
If it's the same as my previous orders, you don't get a license key with the boxed version. (You only get a serial number.) I think the license-key message is a meaningless automatically generated response.

I have ordered the boxed version. What's strange though is that you get three e-mails when you order the boxed version, and one refers to the license key. You're correct though, my recollection of the other boxed versions I purchased is that they always had a key on either the CD or the box. With those versions though, I didn't receive e-mails about license keys. I received one e-mail confirmation with those versions and that was it. I gues we'll all know pretty soon.

Liscence key
I must weigh in this as it has really gotten me stumped. This seems like something out of the DaVinci Code.
I downloaded the trial version and used it for a week. I liked it, so I bought the boxed version. I got an email with the following statement in it:
"2. License key for unlocking the product
The product is licensed to "Lorne Bigley".
The license key for "Ulead VideoStudio 10 (Full/Box) - English" is listed
below. You will need this license key to complete the process and activate
the product. The license key and the text below originate from the software
publisher and may be written in another language.
Coupon Code for Dropshots.com Subscribtion: UleadGift"
Then there is no further mention of a license key in the email. I tried to put in "Coupon code..." and this didn't activate the product.
I then got the box in the mail. On the cover for the disc, there are 2 sets of cryptic numbers and letters. One in bold, so I tried that, both using zero's and "O"s when it looked like a "0". This didn't work, so I used the lighter print combo of letters and numbers. Of course, no go.
I then looked on the box itself, and on the bottom of the box, there is a sticker that looked promising. There were FIVE different unexplained combinations of letters and numbers. I tried them all, although I didn't try the phrase "Made in Taiwan."
Guess what??? None worked. When my "trial" expires, I still want to be able to use this product that I spend some money to purchase.
SOMEONE OUT THERE---HELP!!!
Thank you...that felt good

Hi Lorne,
No, no, no, Do not try to activate the TBYB version. It only leads to problems with patches, updates and fixes later on. They read your program as still being a trial version and will not install.
Uninstall your TBYB version, completely. Go through and get rid of anything having to do with VS10+, or VS10. Then just for safety sake I would do a search and make sure you have gotten rid of the TBYB.
Now put the Program Install disc in, and install VS10+. The license key is for the disc you received, not to activate the trial version. It should work fine from there. The second disc will have the extra content and bonus files. Install the extra content after the main program, then the bonus.

Activation
Glad you finally got it to work. So which set of numbers finally were the correct ones to activate it?

As I stated above do not try to "activate" a TBYB. He didn't activate the TBYB. He installed the program from the disc he received from Ulead. The license/Serial number is included with the disc.

and can I clarify once again that "Coupon Code for Dropshots.com Subscribtion: UleadGift" is for use to activate your free 6 months subscription to Dropshots.com - details here :-
http://activity.ulead.com/us/events/dropshots/runme.htm
It has nothing to do with registering or activating any version of VideoStudio
The serial number which you are required to enter when installing from disc is clearly identified on a label as "S/N: UVS10 (plus) "etc. and is of the form ###A#-#A###-########

I knew that, but it was the only thing in the paragraph about my activation key.BrianCee wrote:and can I clarify once again that "Coupon Code for Dropshots.com Subscribtion: UleadGift" is for use to activate your free 6 months subscription to Dropshots.com - details here :-

I finally got it to work with the code that was printed on the cover of the disc, that was in bold in the above format...mystery solved.

The shrink wrapped non box version came through the post.
I install the disc, get to the licence agreement and a request for a serial number in the above format. try the vs9 serial which is in the format above but no joy
The vs 10 plus upgrade comes in an envelope with a sticker which has the following format.
aXX-XaX-XXX-XaXXXX XXXXXXXX-X which is not the format on the installation,
any help gratefully received.

Licence Key Problem
Posted: Sat Aug 12, 2006 4:08 pm Post subject: VS10+ Installation problem
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have just posted the following on the board when I noticed this posting - the only numbers I have are the one printed on the disc which arrived in the post (more like an order number) and the key for VS9 which does not work - any suggestions............
Hello All,
Have just purchased and downloaded the VS10+ upgrade on the web from Uead via 'element 5'. They sent me aN e-mail with all the download links and supposedly the License Key. There was no reference to the key number in the e-mail and, (would you believe it) when I tried to install VS10 it asked for the key. I have sent e-mails to both element 5 and Ulead but it is the weekend and they usually take days to reply to queries anway.
Anyone out there had a similar problem and what's the solution ?
Have a happy day,
Will
