Hi everyone... I'm new to this forum... I recently upgraded to version 5 of MF... everything looks great but when I go to burn a DVD it will not recognize the media or space on the blank media. I'm using Verbatim DVD+R Lightscribe media which I've used with older versions, in a Lacie Lightscribe burner. When I insert the DVD the Disc Type shows up as DVD+R DL (I'm assuming Dual Layer??? It's not though) and my available space to burn is 0 bytes. Can anyone help me out with this... I've called "Technical Support" and after an hour of the guy fumbling around not knowing what he was doing he came up with the uninstall and reinstall answer which solved nothing.
I look forward to your input.
Steve

If you change the media to other types like DVD-R, will it be OK?
Maybe you can contact Lacie to see if they have any firmware updates for your LightScribe burner.
Hope this helps.

same problem with 2 drives...
sorry but no matter what type of media I put in either of my drives I get this same problem on DMF5. 4 works fine but 5 will not work with any media. tried to work it out with ULead support and they gave up and quit responding to my inquiries. Dmf5 was a waste of money for me. Even reinstalled OS on PC and did a fresh load... same result. no matter what media I put in it says DVD+DL, no space, and burn buttons are inactive.

media
I have used DVD-R media and it works fine.... however I burn DVD+R media on MF4 and it works just fine. It's MF5 that sucks. And "technical support" seems like the wrong name for these guys... I've been pretty disappointed with the purchase of software from Ulead. With this kind of help line it doesn't surprise me that people just download a pirated version of the software... they wouldn't gain anything buy purchasing.

Hi PhotoGuy,
Can you tell us the build number of your DVDMF 5? You can find it via Preference->About Ulead DVD MovieFactory in Ulead DVD MovieFactory Launcher or via Settings and Options->About Ulead DVD MovieFactory in Ulead DVD MovieFactory main program. I will see what I can do.
Best regards,
H.T.

Version
I just uninstalled all ulead software MF4 and 5 and went through the registry to remove any sign of them hoping this would help. It didn't. The version of MF5 that I am running is 5.0.0189.0 . I have also now got problems with version 4... when I go to burn an DVD it now says... "Convert step got some problems! (4570)" Any idea on that issue. I sure hope you can help me here.

Hi rs250r,
Thanks to let me know the drives you use. I will let some people in Ulead know and give some tests with the drives.
Hi PhotoGuy,
The 4570 error in convert step usually means something wrong with the source files. Please tell us the properties of the source files so people can help you more.
Have you tried to select the Delete temparay files button in the Burn step before you burn?
Hope this helps.
