Okay here's the situation...

I did ask before regarding letterbox...maybe I need to give you guys more info...So here goes
All my projects burned to DVD are in letterbox format, which I can't stand. Do the projects look nice..yes Are there any other issues...no When I begin Ulead on start up menu 16.9 is checked. I follow the "Recommended Procedures for Sucess bla bla bla" Every thing indicates that my project is on 16.9 The project props are 16.9, the video file is 16.9, the project settings 16.9, before I burn it 16.9. On Ulead little TV screen with the little remote...yeah 16.9 and it fills the little tv too. No black strips on top or bottom. Nice full dvd movie. By the way I use a lot of stills with a few video clips thrown in. I put the video clips on the overlay track to make sure they are wide. My project prop are what they should be according to the "recommended procedure thingy" AND I have used Video Studio 9 doing all the same things that I am doing in 10+ and it came out with the 16.9 wide screen...no black strips! I have tried messing with the aspect ratio.. both fit to project and keep aspect ratio. I like to use the custom zoom and keep it tight so that I don't have black strips on the right and left side, Hate that too! But it still comes out letterbox. I even let Ulead create the movie for me, do the zooming etc. I don't even touch a thing! It comes out in letterbox as well. So I ask all of you, what the heck is going on? Is it a glitch or is it something I am totally doing wrong? Am I stuck in letterbox #$%???? I can't figure it out!

Hi sunshinegirl

The weathers great here as well.

Ok have a look at these images re 16:9

http://uk.geocities.com/trevor.andrew@b ... vs/all.htm

Select the last menu 16:9 A look at widescreen.

Do you want your final dvd to look like the first helicopter image?

Please double check your video clip properties.
Right click a clip in the timeline and select properties.
Do the ‘attributes’ show 16:9

If your properties are 16:9 are you asking how can you change to 4:3?

Trevor....OMG I know what the problem is....I had a MAJOR SENIOR moment!!!! At almost 40 in 19 days! THANKYOU, for letting me see the light! I went and made a quick movie in 4.3 did the whole yellow background thing to make sure. Well wouldn't you know it filled my LG LCD flat screen so nicely!!! I would swear I was using the 16.9 before. I had vs9 but I had probs with my camera quicktime mov files...they don't play! and the whole smartsound thing which by the way doesn't work in vs10+ everything is grayed out. So I went to Adobe premiere elements 2 and used that for awhile. I came back to Ulead, I just like the interface better. I still have issues with smartsound and quicktime. Not to mention I have itunes which is a pain when having to convert to mp3 then to wav inorder to use adobe. I still have to convert to mp3 for ulead..god why can't everyone just be format friendly with each other :D Anyways I feel better that I am letterbox free!
