My Fonts and path drawings look ok when I am creating them in photo impact 11 but look so grainy when they are viewed as a web site.
I must say that I start by opening a new blank webpage, and when I am
done I choose save for web > as HTML.
How can I work around this?

When you export a webpage as HTML, PI uses whatever settings you currently have in the Image Optimizer to optimize and save the images that make up the page's table cells. You might try changing those settings.
FWIW-I do not recommend using PI as a WYSIWYG web page creator per se. PI is a great tool for creating the images that go on your webpage, just not the coding. Unless things have changed greatly since the days of PIv8, the underlying html/javascript codes are friendly only to Internet Explorer.
