Ulead Video Studio 10 compared to Adobe premiere Elements 2

Post by Mike B »

I have been trying both of these programs to see which one I may want to buy to replace Pinnacle Studio 9.

Both programs have many good features. At the present time Ulead seems to be the best for me however I like some of the features in Adobe just a little more. The one problem with Adobe is that in my rendering tests Adobe took more than twice as long to render. Could this be a beta version and might I expect better performance with a purchased version?

If anyone has had any experience with Adobe and can give me some input that would be great.

Sincerely,

Mike B

Be careful with your experiments. Make sure you're using the same (or similar) settings. (i.e. Adobe may default to high-quality two-pass encoding.) For most users, render-time should not a big concern. You can go do something else while the computer works. If you are doing lots of videos, or production work, render-time might be more important.

I would NEVER make that assumption about a trial or beta version. A lot of people have been disappointed when they assumed something would be different in a purchased version.

Speaking of assumptions... :D I would assume that Adobe has better support than Ulead. (i.e. Ulead doesn't have phone-support.) On average, Adobe's products cost much more than Ulead's and they may spend more money/effort on support. (Most consumer-software companies have poor technical support.)
