File Form Mismatch???

Post by Screwball »

When I want to burn a project onto DVD. When I go to create disc - Add video, a box appears saying UNABLE TO OPEN FILE (c:/ etc.) FILE FORM MISMATCH. On the advice of this forum I am told "Never try to create a dvd with anything on the timeline". But following their instructions, I always get the mentioned error. Can anyone be of help?

What are the properties of the file you are trying to add?

If you also follow the recommended procedure you will see that adding a vsp file to the burning module violates the golden rules! A vsp file is just a project file, not a video file, all it contains is markers and instructions as to where and what everything in the project is.
Just double click the vsp file and VS will open with the project on the timeline. Render that project to a DVD compliant MPEG file. Then clear the timeline and open the burning module (share/create disc) then add the newly created MPEG to the burning module and burn.
Re-read the recommended procedures, the terminology starts to make you go blank the first few times!

Thankyou for your time and effort. That appears to be the answer. I wondered why the file size was so small.
