Can Anybody Help With Ray Tracing/Reflection?

Post by JamesTalus »

Does anypne know if you can "Ray Trace" with C3D Studio? I have an old Micrografx Simply 3D program and it has incredible ray tracing - in which the objects actually reflect the other objects surrounding them.

It seems like Cool 3DS only reflects the lights, not any other objects....

Thanks

Hi James,

You are correct, with Cool 3D only lighting is reflected, and it does not support Ray Tracing...

Ok, since Cool 3DPS doesnt support ray tracing, does anyone build their models in C3DPS and then export it to another prog for ray tracing? Are there any programs that import a .c3d file directly?

The answer to your question is "no". .c3d is Ulead's native format but COOL3D PS does allow one to export models in .x and .3ds. Most 3D software allow support for both.
