VS10 Manual

Post by Black Lab »

Just having a perusal of the pdf manual. They explain in much greater detail the different set-ups for digital and analog connections. Also, videos and slides can be fit to music (when using the Wizard only, as far as I can tell). 8)

There is also a message box that compares, side-by-side, project and clip properties. That should go a long way to solving some of the problems that are reported on this forum.

The manual seems much more thorough this time around. Now I only wish I could BUY THE FREAKING BOXED VERSION

I have the downloadable version of 10 Plus.
The "Show message when inserting first video clip into the Timeline"
option in 'Preferences' apparently doesn't work.

Iv'e purposely set project properties to conflict w/ clip properties and, when I load the clip, I get NO dialog box asking me anything.
It jus loads the clip blithley and does nothing to reconcile project/clip properties, leaving me to do it manually.

It works with my version... What can I say? I assume you have thought about doing a reinstall?

Hi

This message does not work with every clip.

Your projects are using standard compliant properties. Avi or Mpeg.
The type of compressor used also seems to affect the process.

In order to change match the project properties the video file has to be Dvd compliant.

For instance:- If you insert a Wmv file the project properties will not change.
If you insert an Mpeg2 that is not dvd compliant the properties will not change.

Try it with some of the samples in the video library.
You will have to start a new project for each new attempt.

What are the properties of your clip.?
