Transition brightness, contrast, hue & gamma - how possi

If I want to improve the above on a video filmed of outdoor people dancing as the sun is setting in the evening, how can I gradually improve the contrast, etc., using Video Studio 7?

Thanks, Dave

Use FILTERS. (I can't tell you exactly what to "click", because I never had VS7, and the machine I'm on right now doesn't have Video Studio at all.)

Look for "Applying Video Filters" in your user's manual. That should get you on-track.

I have tried FILTERS. The operative word is gradually.

I can not find a way like my friends who use Adobe Premiere to taper the brightness, contrast, etc. gradually to improve the color image from frame to frame as the sun is going down. Filters does it all at once to the whole video segment, not gradually.

Therefore, the beginning sequence will be too bright & contrasty, the end may be ok. I guess I can give the video to my friends, have them fix it, then finish in Ulead?

Hi Dave,

I don't and never had VS7, however it should not be much different then VS8. So it should have the Brightness Filter. Here is how to apply the Brightness, Contrasts gradually.
The Brightness Filter

Now you can start customizing it using the Presets provided

This is the one you need to use. Customize the filters by applying KEYFRAMES and changing the values on each keyframe. VS will interpolate the difference between keyframes, thus giving you a gradual change. To apply a keyframe, click on the "+" above the timeline. Sorry, my arrowhead is covering it here.

Hope that helps...:)

Thanks. Seems exactly what I need. My friends use Adobe Premiere which uses keyframes which they tell me about all the time. I'll give this a try. Our Phoenix PC Users Group Video SIG will be very interested. Best regards.
