VCD DVD Disk Image Recorder

Post by pollice »

I am newbie to video. Trialing this program, great so far especially since I've learned the Full Version comes with more than 1 transition template an that others can be purchased from 3rd party.

I've only used DV to DVD Wizzard. Had about 5 tapes I really wanted to get to a DVD. This might be a great easy way for me to get events off the tapes and to DVD if there is a better group of transition templates.

I tried to take a DVD that I had burned in the DV to DVD Wizzard and use the VCD DVD Disk Image Recorder to make a copy for a family member. Step 1 say's Select a Disk image file. I've tried this without success. Am I suppose to go to the ULead VideoStudeo folder and select something there? How can you select anything that makes sense. That folder looks like it will be problematic for file storage? Shouldn't VideoStudio ask us if we want to save the work or not before it throws the video clip in this default folder? I'd like to save something I wanted to work on again and others just toss, I'm done. But back to VCD DVD Dick Image Recorder, I need to send these DVD's to other family members, how do I make a copy of what I've done in Video Studio off the DVD that I've burnt. Also why doesn't Window Media Player play these DVD's? Is this method of editing your video only condusive to playback on your TV? Better start looking for the manual, too many questions

In order to use the VCD DVD disk Image recorder you need to create a .iso (Disc Image file) in the final window of the Create disc option is a box you need to tick to create this file - it is this .iso file that you need to open in the disc image recorder.

Another alternative if you are going to create more DVDs is to use the "Create DVD Folder" option - also found in the last window of the 'Creat Disc' option - this will create a 'Video_TS" file and you then use ANY DVD copy programme to copy that folder to your blank DVD.

If you do not set either of these options then Ulead have assumed you are only creating one DVD and no longer need the files burnt to disc - so does not actually save them for you.

Depending on what other DVD burning programmes you have you could also use a seperate programme to "Disc Copy" from your DVD to a blank DVD.

Windows media player does not play DVDs from your disc tray - you need another programme on your PC like "Power DVD" or "Sonic My DVD" etc which simulate a DVD player on your PC - you can then play them on your PC
