Need Help with MS Pro 7

Post by syorga »

I am a new user with MS Pro 7 and am addicted to it because of its almost invincible learning curve compared to other similiar softwares. I'm sorry if my problem sounds trivial but it has been bugging me for days.

I would like to place title clips onto my video. It looks fine on the preview panel but when i create an avi file, the animated title clip does not show. What am I doing wrong?

I have placed the video clip and title clip in all combinations of V1, V2, Va, Vb but to no avail.

I have read a post about overlay options but i dont want any of the clips to be transparent.

Do I have to add the title clips to the library, such as adding video filters so that the video filter works on a final product? If so, I do not know how to do it.

I have not upgraded my version with the service packs and patches. That will only be my last option cause i am afraid that it may not be the right solution.

Thanks a lot for all your guidance.

Firstly, please DO download SP3 and install it. It will give you more functionality and fix some bugs. It will not help you with your problem, though :)

I think you will find the answer of pp. 212 - 216 of the manual. This seems pretty clear. When you click on OK, you drag the title to V1 of your project. If I understand you correctly, you are making a separate file of the title, which is incorrect, you have to overlay directly into your actual project.

thanks devil for the guidance.

I have read the manual and found two solutions.

First is to save a text file and import it into the overlay track. The second solution is to directly right clicking on the overlay track and adding the title clip. I chose the latter solution because I would not need to manage so many saved text files.

I then encountered another problem. I wanted the title to be at the bottom of the screen. When I dragged it to the bottom, the final avi file doesnt show the title at all. This time, I manage to solve this problem fairly quickly.

From information in the manual, I added a moving path (centre) into the title clip. I then changed the settings to place the title at the bottom of the page. wahlah!! it worked.
