Create disc error...not sure what to do now.

Post by redhairss »

When trying to burn a disc, I get this error..."the disc is not empty or there is no disc in the device." There is a new blank disc, and the Ulead 10 gives this same error message no matter which of the two drives it is in. Can any of you tell me what is causing this and how to overcome it so that the disc can be burned?
Thanks much for any help.

The most usual cause of this issue is that you have "Packet Writing Software" running. This is software that enables you to drag and drop files from windows Explorer onto your CD/DVD disc. You need to disable it.
This could be Nero InCD or Ulead Quickdrop or some other similar program.

I never use VideoStudio to burn directly to disc. Use the option to either create DVD folders to disc or create an iso image. Once this has been done use your normal CD burning software to burn the ISO image to a CD.

That is the method I also use and recommend, however it will not cure the problems affected by packet CD writing which will still need to be disabled.
