trial and unlocking

Post by Doug2006 »

Hi, things are going great again! I just got one whole dvd done. My question is I bought the vs10 plus and got an unlock code but everytime I enter it into the trial version that I all ready had on my computer it says not valid. I didn't download the software from the link they gave me as I all ready had it on my computer. And when I try to install the content pak it says cannot find ulead vs10 plus ESD. So what is the ESD and will it not install because it is not unlocked? I did not worry about this at first because I paid for the extra hardcopy CD but it is not here yet. Thanks

If you bought it, and they gave you a link, the purchased download might be different from the Trial download. I would download from the link and then put in your code.

So how do you like it so far? I just downloaded the trial myself and I'm just getting started.

Its working real well. I have spent alot of time on this project but almost done. I was hoping not to have to uninstall what I have to reinstall a downloaded version. It should be the same and they give you the enter license code uption on the splash screen. Probably something to do with how busy they were in the first week of roll out.

This has been Ulead's standard procedure for quite awhile Doug. Making their trial versions un-registerable minimizes piracy problems (or so I would guess). Before installing the registered version you should save any project files to a safe location, uninstall the trial, run disc cleanup, delete the trial folder in Program Files (if it remains after uninstalling), reboot... and then install the registered version and enter your license code. Also be sure to download your bonus content and bonus features as your download links will expire on the date specified in your confirmation email from Element5. As far as I know. any projects you save from the trial should work with the registered version but I don't blame you for wanting to finish up first. Why take a chance?

Yes, can verify the same ! Although the trial version looks as though you can enter your serial number, it always comes up as invalid number.

So after downloading the version with the link it worked fine with the serial number, slightly annoying since it meant a further download to get up and running again !
