Get Me Out of Letterbox

Hi can someone help me...Had vs9 never worked correctly,deleted all files, money returned...Decided to try vs10, so far okay except one thing. What is with Letterbox? I don't like letterbox format. In vs9 I would just check 16.9, fit to project size and on my wide screen everything filled out the screen nicely. So am I missing something here with vs10+? Is there a box or something I need to check?

Did you not have a start-up screen which, in the bottom left, have a tick-box with 16:9 in it. And, quite apart from the formats, movie manager, etc, did you not have a similar box on the burning module screen?

Yes and Yes, both are checked 16.9 and when I go to burn the dvd it also has the 16.9 selected. That is why I am confused....
