DVD Movie Factory 5

Post by sjj1805 »

The 'Fit & Burn' also exists in DVD MovieFactory 5 (Standard) and also
DVD Movie Factory 5 Plus.

If your video is too large to fit onto the DVD and you select the burn option

You will be presented with a dialog box.

Title menu, Chapter Menu, Play Next clip etc.

Many users frequently ask if it is possible to create a DVD with or without
1. A Title Menu
2. Chapter Menus
3. Play next Title or Return to Title Menu.

To further clarify these points the I have now added the following to this thread.

The first screen of the Create Disc Module contains a toggle button
[Create menu]

Image
If you turn this off
Image

When you press the [Next] button
Image

You will go directly to the Preview screen
Image

You can now preview your DVD and you will se that it will immediately play the first Title - there are no DVD Menus and if you continue to the next stage - burning - this is how your DVD will behave in your standalone DVD Player.

If instead you place a tick in the [Create Menu] box
Image

Pressing [Next]
Image

Will activate the menu selection screen.
Image

In this example our Titles do not contain Chapters and so the Drop Down List Box [Currently Displayed Menu] is greyed out and thus cannot be selected.

If we step back to the initial screen and select [Add/Edit Chapter]
Image

Then the Add/Edit chapter screen appears with a drop down list allowing us to select which Title we wish to create chapters for,
Image

Here I have created 4 chapters for the Title "Athens"
Image

To better illustrate the effect that has I shall not create any chapters for the 2nd title "Cephalonia". So to recap we have two titles, one has chapters the other has none.

Let us now move on to the next screen
Image

This time we will see that the drop down list is no longer Grey and provides a choice between [Main Menu] and [Athens] - you will notice that "Cephalonia" is not in the list - this is because we did not create any chapters for that title.
Image

Currently the Main menu is selected and this is what is displayed.
If we select [Athens] from the drop down box then we see the Chapter Menu for [Athens]
Image

Let us suppose that we want to have chapters but we do not want a chapter Menu. This still allows a user to jump backwards and forwards through a video even though thee is no chapter menu.

This is achieved by selecting the [Edit] tab and then [Advanced Settings]
Image

If we now deselect [Add Chapter Menu] you will again find that the Menu Selection drop down box is greyed out.

If we only have one title - (and we create chapters)
Image

Upon selecting the DVD Menu screen we can now create a DVD that has chapter menu(s) but no title menu. This is again done by selecting the [Edit] tab and then [Advanced Settings]
Image

When you have more than one title on your DVD
Image

You can choose to play the first title and then return back to the menu, or alternatively you can continue to play Title 2. You do so by clicking the cog wheel indicated in this screen shot.
Image

NOTE:
This option can only be selected if you have also deselected
[Auto repeat when disc playback ends]
