VS 10 audio problem (urgent)

Post by jjyang »

Hi, I still have some audio problem with VS 10. I captured both video and sound via IEEE 1394 in AVI format, no problem. I edited them and reproduced to AVI, no probelm. I put all the AVI files (chapters) together and created DVD with motion menu. The last several chapters have no problem. But the first several chapters have no audio at all. BTW, all the files are in the same format and settings. I tried LPCM, DD, and Mpeg audio format, same result. I have to present this DVD to my customer in 20 hours. Any help?

You've jumped a step. You need first to convert all your AVIs to DVD-compliant mpeg-2s (Share - Create Video File - DVD), and gone straight to the burning module (Share > Create Disc) and used your AVIs in that. That means the program is having to convert them on the fly and do the other multiplexing tasks that it does in the burning module. Problems are bound to arise if you do it this way. Oh, and once you have the DVD compliant mpegs, you then close your project, and with nothing in the timeline, go to Share > Create Disc, and insert the new mpegs into the burning module, build your menus etc, and then burn. But remember to click on 'Do not convert compliant mpeg files' in the bottom left of the burning module screen.
