I am considering updating VS8 SE to VS10. (thanks for answers on thread about pulling from DVD!).
CASE: I would need to download on machine A (connected to internet) and carry install prog to machine B (where VS8 is installed). For security the machine with the videos and software is not directly on the internet.
Q: WILL the full VS10 plus update as downloaded install correctly without an internet connection?
Apologies if this is answered, 20 minutes of search didn't find it if so.

VS10 Q: network connection req for update?

Ulead has a new way to verify you have a legal copy of the program to be upgraded. When you install VS10 you will be asked for the serial number you received from Elements 5, then you will be asked for the previous version serial number. If your number is valid the installation will continue. Nothing else required.
Just copy your download to a CD and install it in the other computer, no need to keep previous Video Studio, you can leave it on the computer if you think you will need it in the future. Network connection not required.
Hint if you do upgrade don't activate a trial version, purchase the software from Ulead's Web Store. Too many folks have had problems activating TBYB software.
P.S. TBYB software will install without having a previous version installed on the computer.
