Hi
I have installed VS10 and in general it runs without problems.
My problem is that VS10 has created a folder "c:\Documents and Settings\profilename\Application Data\Ulead Systems"
The content of this folder and all its subfolders is about 17MB.
Because of this folder I get the system error message that my profile memory is full and I need to remove date from the profile memory.
If I delete this folder then the system error message disappears but everytime I start VS10 it creates that folder again which triggers the system error message.
I searched through all settings(preferences) and through the registry but could not find a setting where this folder is defined.
I would need to move this folder to a different location to avoid getting the system errors.
Any ideas?

Hi Sektionschef,
Folders in the Application Data directory are used by the system (in conjunction with a specific program) and shouldn't be moved or deleted. The 17mb size of your Ulead Systems folder is not unusually large. I have several of their products installed and my Ulead Systems folder in the Application Data directory is nearly 120mb. That said, memory and file size are two different matters. Concerning memory issues I usually think in terms of memory leaks, virtual memory (aka; swap file), DDR memory, and that sort of thing. Sorry to say I don't have any specific advice but if you could quote the entire error message and post the specifications of your system it might tell us more.

Hi michaeltee
Many Thanks for your answer.
The PC where I have installed VS10 is my PC in the office.
It is connected to the company LAN. Each PC has a limited "profile memory" that is the diskspace of the the folder c:\Documents and Settings\username for each individual user in the company.
This folder is some kind shared on the LAN. If I would login on another PC on the network, I will also have access to this profile memory because it is also stored somewhere on a server.
As said before, this profile space is limited in size. This is a restriction from the network administrators that I can't change. After I have installed VS10 my total profile usage was too big because VS10 has installed the subfolder "Ulead Systems" with additional 17MB there.
From your answer I assume that there is no easy way to move this "Ulead Systems" folder to another location, isn't it?
On the other hand, I think this profile memory limitation is common in company LANs, did nobody ever run it this problem before?

Wish I had more to offer. Keep an eye on the VideoStudio web board and also consider posting your question in the free "Tech Support Guy" forums. Not necessarily specific to VS10 but along the lines of workarounds for the LAN scenario you've described. Unique and/or difficult problems are often resolved there.Sektionschef wrote:Hi michaeltee

Check your folder for other things that can be deleted such as temporary files.
Perhaps you can archive some old stuff in some way such as onto floppies, Cd's or DVD's depending upon what your company has made available.
If you have no CD storage but have external email facilities you could even email it to yourself at home and archive it.
Another idea is to zip old stuff with winzip

Many Thanks for your answers!
I think I can read between the lines that there seems to be NO way in VS to specify a different location for this folder!!!
It would be interesting to know what is this folder for?
Because VS seems to have no problems to run if I have deleted this folder. Unfortunately with every next start of VS this folder is created again in case it does not exist.

Sounds like your company uses roaming profiles with quotas. If 17MB is pushing your profile over the limit then you might want to look into deleting some temp files as suggested in previous posts, or checking if you have any large files sitting under the Desktop folder, as this will up your profile size. You can copy any large files under the Desktop folder to another location and setup shortcuts.
Smaller roaming profile size=happy network administrator
Running Disk Cleanup will not resolve this issue.
