just bought upgrade to 8.0. Now, which download???

Post by mikewillnot »

Sorry to bother this group of wizards with a stupid customer service question, but I don't see where else to ask it (except via snail-like email.....)

I just bought tye 7.0 -> 8.0 upgrade. The download page shows about 5 different downloads available now, with very unclear descriptions -- as follows:

Download link: COOL 3D 3.0 SE:
Download link: VideoStudio 8 - Extra Content Files
Download link: VideoStudio 8 - Style Pack
Download link: SmartSound Audio Files
Download link: VideoStudio 8 - Upgrade Version

I assume item 5 is the actual program. Do items 2, 3, & 4 also include the actual program, like a bundle, or are they additional things?

And is there an explanation of this somewhere that I missed ?????

Thanks.
Aziz

I recently did the same thing - download everything!

When it comes to setup - run the main UVS8 upgrade version, then you could probably do the rest in any order.

Note that for SmartSounds to work, you need to have a very recent version of Quicktime installed.

Mike,
IMHO, you don't NEED any of the downloads that you listed. However, there are bug fix updates that you definitely need. They are listed on the top post in this forum.

Thanks for the replies & advice. I suppose it would be unrealistic to hope for a clear explanation on the download page.

That's one reason this forum does so well - many things are very poorly documented..
