I can render a small (30 secs) windows media file from HDV footage OK but trying to do the same thing with a bigger clip (8 mins) and I get this error about halfway through:
Error on writing file (0xc00d0bc3)
(18300:9000:149)
Any thoughts were to start? This is the latest trial version.
I've had the error sometimes too. One day I'm rendering out fine and then out of nowhere I can't render the file anymore. This only happens when i'm trying to render out a 720p or 1080i type file. Again with some projects I can get it to work and with others...they worked one day and now don't work anymore.
One way I fixed the problem was with removing the audio .mp3 track and re-inserting it as a .wav . Worked some of the time but for my other videos that don't work, i'm stuck as well.
Sucks when i'm trying to render out a 30 min 720p hd file and it halts on me after an hour or so later. Feels like I just lost a whole hour I could have been using to do something productive. doh!
Had the same problem today and googled the error code (what did we do before google?). Found this quite informative problem description from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... r/faq.aspx
the error happens at the very end of the encoding process and when that WMV problem occurs I also tend to experience synchronization issues with my MPG2 (I use 5.1 sound), so the audio might indeed be the problem.
I did a test and changed the audio codec to CBR (as recommended in the Microsoft FAQ), leaving the video at VBR.
This had the encoding process terminate in the middle (after pass 1) without any error message (and of course without a WMV file).
Then I had a closer look and realized that the audio codec was "Windows Media 10 Professional" whereas the video codec was "Windows Media 9".
I changed the audio codec to 9, still CBR and HEUREKA! I have a working WMV file!
The only negative side effect is that I can't have 5.1 audio using a WM9 encoder, at least I haven't found that option.
Hope that helps in your situation, too

PS It's not a ULEAD issue. I experienced the same Oxc00d0bc3 error using SUPER.
