VideoStudio 10 Plus and Windows Media encoder x64 problem

Post by acortina »

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this problem.

I just performed a double upgrade from Windows XP Pro to XP Pro x64 and at the same time from VS9 to VS10Plus. I installed VS10Plus with no problems, then I installed Windows Media Encoder 9 for X64 since the normal WME9 can´t be instaled on XP x64.

I´m importing HD video from the Sony HDR-HC1 and want to save it to WMV HD (windows media video High Definition), I had no trouble with VS9, XP Pro. and WME9. but the new combination doesn´t seem to find the x64 encoder, the option apears on the create video file dialog, but at the end VS only has acces to a WME8 the output is of much lower resolution.

Thanks for any help.

VideStudio 10 Plus not compatible with XP x64

Post by acortina »

Aparently there is no solution to my problem, windows XP Pro x64 is to jung and has lots of problems with drivers and other stuff.
But definetly VideoStudio 10 plus is not what is adverticed, it is almost impossible to work with HD files, first the lack of integration with the WMEx64 software, Divx is also not working of X64 and VS10. In my opinion a full HD compatible software should be able to produce HD DVDs or WMV HD files directly from the HD camcorder, as it happens with DV to DVD.

simple.

DV to DVD = HDV to HD DVD
DV to WMV = HDV to WMV HD

These is far from happening, I'm reistalling regular XP Pro and will wait for more HD compatible software to be developed.

Botomline - Videostudio 10 Plus is not compatible with XP x64
Videostudio id not HD ready.
