Video Studio 10 Trial Questions
For years I've used Ulead for Photo editing purposes but have been using Pinnacle for video editing, but decided to give Ulead's Video editing a try. So far I'm easing into it nicely, but of course things are different. Under the trial version are ready made Menus included? I've looked for them while editing but can't seem to find them.
Thanks,
Kathy

I had the same question--couldn't find the answer on Ulead's site. So far it seems like a pretty good product, but I'd like to know if it comes with ten themes, fifty, 100, etc.kathymw wrote:Thanks Daniel...I figured as much, but before even considering buying I wanted to see more of what I was getting. I'll research it out more on Ulead's site on product info.
I am not finished testing VS10 so don't know about the contents, but VS9 was delivered with 67 pre-defined menus.
However the point is moot since you can import any picture or video as background, any music, have a different layout by menu page and combine any button style with any frame type and size, so the possibilities are about as endless as it gets.

This is true however as daniel pointed out, the possible template combinations are virtually endless. As I mentioned (as an example) in another string, I recently purchased a CD-ROM with over 2000 4:3 menu and title backgrounds for about $25. 3rd party background art (static image or video clip) can easily be applied to any of VS10's menu templates and then be further modified by changing the navigation buttons, thumbnail frames, font settings, etc. To go a step further, the layout itself can be rearranged by dragging the various content elements to any desired position of the menu and of course you can change/add your own background music as well.kathymw wrote:Well according to someone else's post on the board, 10 doesn't seem to have the menu templates that 9 did.
Also (although I'm sure this has already been mentioned), menu templates, frames, buttons, background images, video clips, etc., can be imported from older vesrions of VideoStudio, MovieFactory and PictureShow and integrated into the VS10 directory.

The seller advertises the package using different brand names (Ulead, Pinnacle, Adobe, etc.) but any of his listings that begin with "2000+ Video Images DVD..." are all the same CD-ROM. It's a nice package. You get 2000 720x480 backgrounds arranged in folders by category plus a set of matching thumbnails. Here's a link to the package. If it's already been sold just go to his eBay store and there will be other links you can use:

You seem to have photoImpact, in that case you may be interested in creating your own Menus completely from scratchkathymw wrote:For years I've used Ulead for Photo editing purposes but have been using Pinnacle for video editing, but decided to give Ulead's Video editing a try. As for backgrounds I prefer to use a picture related to the video in some way, either a screen capture from the video or something taken with my digital camera.

You just answered my other question--whether I can make my own templates! I agree, once I get my sea legs I plan to make my own menus and backgrounds. Thanks for the tips. You seem to have photoImpact, in that case you may be interested in creating your own Menus completely from scratch
