with VS 7:
I have a project with clips that are from different sources, e.g., the sequence of clips from source A, B, A, etc. The timing is continuous (B is a different camera angle of the same event as A). I'd like the project audio to be from A continuously, while the video switches from A to B to A. Can anyone suggest how to do this? Thanks.
edit Q: video from clip A, audio from B?

Ah. Could be.
I have VS8; don't remember how 7 was set up. If you can't see a way to get the overlay to full screen size (muting the audio shouldn't be a problem) you may have to spring for the update.
A personal recommendation: VS8 is well worth the update cost, for the extra audio controls alone. And with a copy of VS7 you can upgrade fairly cheaply.

another way to do this would be to place the entire clip A, into the timeline, then split the audio from the video. You can then edit the video only, switching from clip A to B. Leaving the audio from clip A in the voiveover track. just make sure you mute clip B, once it is inserted or you may get an echo effect, or 2 audio clips playing at the same time. I have done this many times using VS7, so it should work.
