Using an animated gif

Post by spurrymoses »

Hi,

I've got an animated gif of a bird flying and I want to make it move across the screen.

I can basically do this, but when I drag the GIF file onto the timeline, it will only stretch out to about 0.5 of a second. Attempting to drag any further has no effect. I can imagine it only wants to do one iteration of the animation and then consider that finished.

Is there anything special I can do to overcome this in a nice way? I can place contiguous animations over and over again on the timeline, and match them up I suppose, but I'm hoping there's a nicer way.

Apart from the fact that the clip lasts 0.5 secs, it looks great ;-)

I found the answer, I copy and paste and match them up. Fair enough.
Here's the tutorial:

The interesting thing about animated gifs, is that they don't animate when you put a 3d Moving Path on them (such as XYZ) and then rotate them. Or it might possibly be because there's only 2 frames of animation. I'm not quite sure yet.
