VS9 and Google Earth

Post by Ken Veal »

Insperation please!
I have downloaded a file from Google Earth that starts with a shot of the globe and then I have to manually zoom in to an aerial shot of my home via continents, country, town, street etc.I want to put this in a project in VS9 as a video but it does not work like that, so the next best way I can think of is to make numerous screen grabs and put these in the timeline as a series of still images.Does any one know of a better way?

Yes, I know a better way, I've done this myself.

I used the paid version of FRAPS to save a movie of a Google Earth animation. FRAPS saves the video in a lossless compressed AVI format that you can then transcode to whatever format you need, or include directly in your project.

If you do a search online for FRAPS version 1.9d, that was last complete freeware version before it became shareware. I tried it out last night using Google Earth and it recorded video just fine without a problem. The interface isn't as pretty as the new verion, but it is 100% free.
