10 Plus problems and questions, such as Mpeg 4 DVD missing.

Post by MRG »

Hello!

I just upgraded from Ulead Video Studio 9 to 10Plus. My questions are:
- The Mpeg 4 DVD option is missing from the "Create Video File" options menu. How can I get that back to the options or transfer it from version 9?
- Several DVD creation and other templates are missing from 10 plus that I have in 9. How can I transfer them to this one?
- In 9 there was a Flash Animation Upgrade problem. I contacted support, received the auto-reply, but no answer whatsoever after that. Anyways, after the new Flash player upgrade Ulead Video Studio 9 crashed! It just couldn't handle the Flash anymore. Has this issue been fixed in 10 plus, can I upgrade my Flash player now to the latest, or this one will crash as well?
- In the 10Plus Bonus Pack there are all sorts of files, audio, video, etc. Do I have to copy them manually into the Ulead Video Studio program directory, or this "setup" program is wrong?

Thanks guys!

(I don't know why, but this forum loads extreeeeeeemly slow to me, though I've got a 3Megabit/s line.)

Re the mpeg-4 DVD template missing from Create Video File, mine is the same. I can only suggest you write down the properties of such files from VS9, then in VS10 you open the Create Video File drop down menu and select Custom at the bottom. Then when the next screen comes up, select mpeg-4 as the format, and then Options, and set the properties to the same as those you copied from VS9. Then give it a name and in future it should appear down towards the bottom when next you select Create Video File.

As for those missing from the Create Disc options, mine too -- in fact I only seem to have 4:3 and 16:9 PAL DVD Dolby 5.1 available. But then again, I recall that this was also much the case when I installed VS9, though others seemed to have more choices immediately available. But the solution, if cumbersome, is much the same as that which I described above, only this time you use Tools > Make Movie Manager. Select New in the new dialogue box, and then the format in the next, give it a name and then fill in the properties.

I can't comment on Flash as mine always worked fine in VS9 and does so in VS10. I also have the full Macromedia Flash 8 program on my computer.

As with VS9 (and 8), you have to manually copy the extra audio, video and images to the Samples sub-directory of VS10. It doesn't happen automatically as far as I am aware.

As for the speed of loading this Forum, I have only a 512 kbps line, and it loads as quickly as any other website...

There is no need to copy the extra audio, video and images if you intend to keep your earlier version on your computer. simply use the Library manager and import them as thumbnails.
In fact I have created a completely seperate folder for all my sounds, videos etc so that I can easily share them between my Ulead applications.

Hi!

Thanks for the replies, they helped me to find solutions to most of my problems. The Mpeg4 custom is really not difficult, the files and folders can be replaced, re-linked, so that's not an issue either. I have removed the older 9 version though, cause I don't want confusions.

The setup of the program was a little bit tricky, because it requested the registration code, but left no space to reach my files, locked the entire screen, so I had to quit setup, find my registration number file and restart, then do the same again because right after that it requested the previous serial number. So, it would have been a big help if the setup program had not locked the entire screen, but I'm over it, done.

I really enjoy the filters, the transition effects, the multi-layer option in my 10 plus that I really missed from 9. There are some limitations in the options regarding the layers and other things, but all together I am very satisfied with the features provided in this version for the upgrade price.

Thanks again for your help!
