which capture device?

hi!

which capture device is working well with MovieFactory?
the Video Capture Cards Compatibility List ulead provides was last updated 2004/11/5.
i tried to use dazzle hollywood dv-bridge with a pc windows xp and most of the time i get problems with stuck frames...

Hi Joerg,

First could you complete your System Information in your profile? Ths seems to be more of an issue with your capture settings. I'm not familiar with the Hollywood DV-Bridge. Does it use firewire (IEEE1394) or the dreaded USB? Are you experiencing dropped frames?

My theory is: If you have trouble, use the special capture software that came with your capture device.... That's what I do! (Different device.) Once you have a digital video file on your hard drive, you can use whatever software you want.

Some capture devices just don't seem to work well with some software. I assume that it's because the drivers for capture devices are not as standardized as more common peripherals, like printers.
