VS10 and Sony MicroMV (DCR-IP5 camera)

Post by rickety »

With VS9 trial I consistently got "Unable to Produce Capture Graph". That seemed to be a problem that no-one had been able to solve. Now with VS10 trial it detects my camera as HDV and starts to capture, then immediately stops saying that the format of the recording has changed from HDV to DV. Unfortunately it always detects this problem and therefore never captures anything.

Does anyone know whether we can turn off this detection, or tell VS10 to ignore it?

Using the trial MediaStudio 8 also detects as HDV and works fine. I just don't have the budget for MS nor currently the need for the additional capabilities in the editor.

You might want to try Movie Factory 5 TBYB, the capture drivers in it are far superior than the ones in VS10+. The Programers at Ulead don't talk to each other. I have VS10+ and the only drivers that work are for my ATI All In Wonder Capture card. I haven't tried my HD video camera yet I don't know if it will work or not.

Ulead needs to get their stuff together.

Well certainly the capture program with MovieFactory captures from the IP5 MicroMV camera. In fact the capture program looks a lot like the one with MediaStudio. (Maybe those guys talk!).

Maybe VS11 will sort it out.

However, I think the only problem was the way VS10 expected HDV and then saw it wasn't. The other capture programs just take the stream and store it happily. I was hoping that the error checking could be turned off with some hidden option.
