ADS PYRO A/V Link (USB) Capture Device Compatible With VS10?
It might be too early to ask, but is anyone using the ADS / PYRO A/V Link (USB2) capture device with VS10? If so, have you experienced any compatibility issues capturing analog or DV directly through VS10? Just curious... a friend of a friend is selling his and I'm thinking about buying it. Apparently the device doesn't include a tightly integrated capture application but instead relies on the included Premier Elements 2 package. I'm not interested in Premier and would only want to use the device if it's compatible with VS10. Any comments appreciated
As far as I know the ADS USB device won't work with VS10 or Plus due to the fact the capture module sucks.
Movie Factory 5 works with all my capture devices, however I don't have any USB devices. In VS10 I get an error message that it doesn't work with USB. I get this message if I try to pick the wrong device that doesn't work in VS10.

The ADS Pyro A/V Link will work with VS10 because its connection is through firewire not USB. For hardware requiring a USB connection, they need to have a proprietary driver written by Ulead to be used as a capture plugin. MS1394 with Direct Show Plugin will work with this device the same as any mini-DV camcorder equipped with a firewire DV interface. Take a look at adstech.com and check the specs. It pays to know what you're purchasing.
