Problem with trial version 10+

Post by airwin66 »

Hi,

I have installed the "try-before-you-buy" 30 day version of VideoStudio 10 Plus.

When starting the program I get the following error:

Limit users can not try this product.
You can use normally after successful activation.

Does anyone have a clue about what is happening here?

Thanks in advance,

Erwin

HI, I think what you may be doing from what I can tell is clicking the wrong button. When it comes up click on the TRY button. It should start the program again. If you still have problems, uninstall it and download trial again. If this is what you are doing, I myself did it when I downloaded my first trial version. It took me days to figure out the simple little thing i was doing wrong... hope this helps. 8) Christy.

Hi Christy,

Unfortunately, there is no TRIAL button, just an OK Button which does nothing but exit the program.

I just downloaded the trial again, but the result from using that download was the same....

Erwin,

I also downloaded the TBYB version, your splash screen should be this:

If not then your download or install is corrupt. A couple of questions though:

1. Are you installing it under a profile that has Admin rights and privileges?
2. Do you have more then 1 User Profile on your system? You might try changing profiles, to one that has full rights, and installing from there.
3. Did you get any errors while installling?
4. Could you take a screenshot of your splashscreen and post it here?

I just installed the trial software on my older P3-1GHz system. That system now works just fine, so it has te be something else on my regular system. I'll go and check that system out again....

To all: Thanks for your help

Probably that means that you need Administrator privileges to run trial.

Just reporting back here that I finally managed to get the trial running.

It took a XP re-install...... but I had that coming I guess. I had this system running for over 2 years. It is part of my job to manage Windows systems, so I very regularly install and de-install stuff on this system. Honestly, I have never even gotten to two years before a re-install.

So I'll go and try VS10+ over the next few weeks. I'm used to Roxio VideoWave and Pinnacle Studio. These work, but both seem to lack something which makes me turn to other programs.

BTW: It wasn't Administrator authorizations top get it to work. I had that covered.
