First, read your manual. If you don't have one, click here to download one.

If you run into trouble, we will try to help.

Don't expect to complete your project in a few minutes. Video editing and DVD authoring can be tricky. I might take a full weekend to get comfortable using a new video program. And, everybody has a slightly different set-up and they are doing something slightly different... so it's not unusual to run into trouble...

However, once you learn to use your software, you should be able to make a simple DVD in less than an hour, plus a little longer while you wait for the project to "render" and burn. If you are doing lots of editing, and making fancy DVD menus, it can take days!
i have ulead 4
You posted this on the Video Studio forum, but I suspect you actually have Movie Factory 4. (Both can make DVDs.)
using a card reader
Your video is probably in a highly-compressed low-quality format. These can cause difficulty and take a long time to render. If you still need help after reading the manual, tell us about your video file format. Read the post at the top of the forum that says Read This First... will tell you what we need to know to help you.

Also, read the Recommended Procedure. Some of this won't apply if you're stuck with video on a memory card, but I think you'll still find lots of useful information.
