Indeed they gave me a link for a free upgrade of VS10+, however its no good when I've already purchased the product
I don't understand. You purchased v9 three days before v10 came out. Now Ulead offers you a free upgrade to v10, but that's "no good"? Sounds like a fair deal to me.

Sounds fair to me also. It sounds like AMD wants a Free program. If Ulead refunds his money for VS9 and provided a link for a free upgrade, that means the program cost nothing... Wow what next, Ulead starts paying us to get their programs????

I may be wrong but I get the impression that AMD64 first bought VS9, then 3 days later VS 10 was released, and then he actually paid for the upgrade to it. Having read this thread, though, he decided to approach Ulead, and they sent him the free link. But understandably, since he already paid for the upgrade to VS10, he'd prefer his upgrade money back.

Well, if that is the case, then yes, Ulead needs to reimburse the upgrade money. I must have missed that. It appeared to me, that AMD64 just bought VS9 and then VS10+ was realeased, a complaint was filed, and Ulead provided a free upgrade link. Then AMD64 wanted a refund (which would be for VS9)...
AMD64 wrote:You think thats bad.. I purchased Version 9 full then 3 days later Version 10 came out, thanks Ulead.
AMD64 wrote:Thanks bjwp - I have just emailed them regarding the matter and will post the outcome as soon as I receive it!

Matter is now in round 2, hopefully I will get my upgrade money back instead to solve the problem... stay tuned.
I don't know AMD64 didn't state that he had purchased it, so his posts do appear that VS9 was the product he purchased, not VS10 Plus...

Enigma unravelled

Crikey me!

Ok listen up folks.

I bought VS9 Full.. 3 days later it was announced that VS10+ upgrade was available so I bought the upgrade - then after reading these forums realised that I may get compensated for the amount I spent on the two products, if I were aware of VS10+ I wouldn't have spent my money on the VS9 full in the first place.

Ulead kindly sent me the free upgrade link but as I said I already own the product.. so it's a refund that would be nice.

Hope that clears the little matter up and apologies accepted from those who thought I was being ungrateful.

Thank you.

And I will of course extend my sincere appologies AMD64... Like I stated earlier, since you did already pay for the product, then Ulead should reimburse you, and I hope they do. It certainly will look favorably on them.

Excellent customer service from Ulead

As the initiator of this thread I am delighted to advise all my readers that the Ulead team have provided me with a free upgrade to v10 plus.
I e-mailed them immediately before seeking comment and advice thro' this web board. I have been on holiday and have just found their reply which arrived early last week.

Well done Ulead and thanks and good luck to all my readers.
